FILTER
SAND
| |
| Physical characteristics:
Color: Light brown Effective
size: .40 - .55 millimeters Acid
solubility: <1.7% Specific
gravity: 2.67 MOH hardness:
7
Filter sand is an extremely effective filter media because
of its ability to hold back coagulum or precipitates
containing impurities. Filter sand size, angularity
and hardness are the important filter sand characteristics
to ensure proper filtering. Our filter sand is triple
washed in our manufacturing process producing a squeaky
clean filter sand that is virtually silt and fines free.
Initial backwash cycles are reduced as well, saving
significant amounts of time and water in your start-up
backwash cycle. AWWA Standard B100-01 and NSF
Standard 61 approved for drinking water and NSF Standard
50 approved for swimming pools.

SUPPORT
GRAVEL
| |
| Physical characteristics:
Color: Multi-colored
Density: 100 pounds per
cubic foot Mesh size: 1/8
x 2-1/2 inch
Support gravel, the lower strata of a filter bed, acts
to support the filter medium. The maximum efficiency,
the support gravel must possess the necessary attributes
of hardness and be rounded or non-angular. Correct gradation
and sizing must be calculated to properly support the
filter media.
AWWA Standard B100-01 and NSF Standard 61 approved.

ZEOBEST®:
NATURAL ZEOLITE FILTER MEDIA |
|
 |
Physical characteristics:
Color: Pale-green
Density: 50 pounds per cubic foot
Effective size: .55-.65 mm
Uniformity Coefficient: 1.5
ZEOBEST® provides unsurpassed clarity
with turbidits removed down to 3 microns. (WQA test
report 111004.04150.001)
ZEOBEST possesses the highest Cation Exchange Capacity
(CEC). ZEOBEST absorbs ammonia from swimming pools
to reduce chloramine formation. Reduced chloramine
formation decreases eye irritation and improves air
quality. ZEOBEST is produced from the highest quality
and most homogeneous deposit of natural clinoptilolite
zeolite in the US.
